The Ivy Trust
Supporting parents and families in Guernsey.

About the Trust.

From small beginnings in 2013 the Trust has grown thanks to the generous donations of individuals and businesses. This wonderful support has enabled us to provide assistance to parents and professionals in many areas of mother and baby care.

Whilst maintaining our core aim of supporting bereaved parents we have widened the scope of the work we can do with a program of support across all aspects of maternal and baby care with particular focus on prevention of loss.

We understand the importance of making memories and finding ways to remember those babies who weren’t able to make the safe journey from conception to birth.

Although we have achieved far more than we ever anticipated or dreamt of there are still things we would like to be able to do and with the help of our dedicated and generous supporters we continue to look for ways to make these ideas a reality.

What’s happening?

Miscarriage support explainer
As part of the trusts work to support parents who experience a miscarriage we have created this short video which explains a little of what we offer at this difficult time. The video is available to view or download from our website.
Les Caches Farm
tree planting at les caches farm
Our first memorial planting will be at Les Caches Farm in partnership with The National Trust of Guernsey. Creating natural places of remembrance is a beautiful way to enable parents and families to remember all babies gone too soon and to build hope for the future.

Sadly the planting has been delayed by the pandemic however we now hope to be able to complete this in the near future.

The planting will be a combination of native trees and shrubs and parents may remember as many babies as they wish for a donation of £25 per tree/shrub. Thanks to a donation towards these costs from Skipton International’s Community Fund, we are able to gift one planting to each family who would like to remember a little one. However there is no limit on the number of trees/shrubs that can be requested and the remembrance is available for a loss of any gestation regardless of the time that has passed since this happened. Parents will also be invited to assist with the planting of the area later in the year if they wish to do so.

If you would like more information on the planting please email contact@theivytrust.org.

Donations.

The Ivy Trust is funded entirely by donations and any amount however small is much appreciated. We are always keen to offer support to fundraising events and can provide banners and leaflets. We have a number of collection pots at various retail outlets around the island - please get in touch if you have a suitable location for one of these.
